Chhatrapati Shivaji College of Agriculture, Kirlos-Oros was established in 2002, affiliated with Dr.Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth – Dapoli. It offers a 4 year B.Sc. Hon’s (Agriculture) degree program. Students successfully clearing the HSC\ (XII) with Science Stream are eligible for admission. In 2006, the first batch of 55 graduates passed out with 100% result and 100% placement. The college has also introduced a campus – interview system.
In order to bring the changes in the farmer’s view towards agriculture, Sindhudurg Zilla Krishi Pratishthan, a farmer’s co-operative trust was established in the year 1997 at Kirlos under the chairmanship of Brig. Sudhir Sawant. The trust is working for the upliftment of the farming community with its established Institutes. 13 well equipped laboratories for Soil Science, Plant Pathology, ASDS and Entomology. 170 Acres Farming Land, 59 acres of experimental farm to conduct vast studies in Agronomy, Horticulture, Botany
